LUCKNOW, Oct. 3 -- Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday firmly ruled out any new alliances for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, saying his party will continue with the existing INDIA bloc arrangement. On the possibility of an alliance with AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Yadav said: "The same alliance that defeated the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls in UP will continue in 2027 also." Addressing a rally in Kanpur last month, Owaisi had said: "I can only say this again: don't cry after the elections. I am saying this openly today that we will wait till October 2. Thereafter, we will announce an alliance, whatever its composition may be." The AIMIM chief had also invited opposition parties to join hands with his party, stating that AIMIM did not want the BJP to form the government in Uttar Pradesh for a third time.
