AMRITSAR, July 6 -- The acting jathedar of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, on Sunday warned of Panthic action against the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) social media handlers, accusing them of running a "vilification propaganda against the highest Sikh temporal seat", following the clergy's verdict against chief minister Bhagwant Mann over an alleged objectionable video. Mann has vehemently denied that he figures in the alleged video. Addressing a Panthic gathering on Sunday,Gargaj alleged slanderous propaganda against Sikh institutions. He reprimanded the government, saying outsiders who are making disparaging remarks regarding Sikh faith on social media should be stopped within 10 days. "If this does not stop, the Khalsa Panth is strong enough to take action," he said. The gathering endorsed implementation of the Akal Takht edict which deemed CM Mann 'Guru Dokhi (anti-Guru)' and 'Khalsa Panth virodhi (anti-Khalsa Panth)'. Speaking to reporters later, SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami said the Sikh community had unanimously resolved to implement the June 15 edict in its entirety. Dhami said the united support shown by the Panth for the Sikh clergy's directive was a clear response to those attempting to undermine the dignity, traditions, and authority of Akal Takht. Meanwhile, Gargaj said the sanctity and supremacy of the Akal Takht are non-negotiable and history is witness that anyone who deviated from Sikh principles ultimately had to answer before the Takht....
