Lucknow, June 26 -- The area around Lucknow Airport is set for a major transformation as Adani Airport City Limited (AACL) unveiled plans to develop integrated airport cities across its airport network. The initiative is part of a Rs.20,000-crore first-phase investment programme that will see more than 22 million square feet of mixed-use development across six airports in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur and Guwahati. In Lucknow, the proposed Airport City will bring together hotels, retail spaces, office complexes, entertainment zones, convention facilities and public infrastructure within a master-planned district connected to the airport and urban transport networks. The development is designed to turn airports into economic ecosystems rather than mere transit hubs. The model draws inspiration from globally recognised airport districts such as Singapore's Changi, Dubai International, Amsterdam's Schiphol and Seoul's Incheon. As part of the initiative, AAHL has signed hotel management agreements with IHG Hotels & Resorts for five luxury and premium hotels across its airport network, including the launch of the Kimpton brand in India. Jeet Adani, director, Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) said, "We are creating a network of integrated urban destinations where airports become catalysts for investment, employment, better passenger experiences."...
