Airline manager held for attempt to murder
PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 11 -- The Airport Police have arrested an airline manager on charges of allegedly luring a young woman employee of a private airline to Prayagraj on the pretext of training, assaulting her, and attempting to kill her.
The accused, identified as Rohit Singh, was arrested on Sunday, police said. According to police, the victim is a Delhi resident employed with IndiGo Airlines.
In a complaint lodged with the police, her father, Subedar Santosh Singh, who is posted in Dimapur, Nagaland, alleged that Rohit Singh had called his daughter to Prayagraj for training and subsequently took her to his rented accommodation.
The complaint states that on August 6, Rohit informed the family that the woman had allegedly fallen down a staircase and had been admitted to a private hospital. Claiming that her condition was critical, he asked the family to come to Prayagraj immediately.
The family reached the city at around 6 am on August 8 and found the woman unconscious and on ventilator support at the hospital. Her father alleged that she had sustained serious injuries to her head, throat, nose, and mouth.
Police said the accused is a native of Najafgarh, Delhi, and currently resides in IRWO Colony, Peepalgaon, Prayagraj.
Station house officer (SHO), Airport police station, Rajesh Upadhyay confirmed the arrest and said the case is under investigation....
