Air India Exp flight diverted to lucknow
LUCKNOW, March 29 -- An Air India Express flight from Bengaluru to Kolkata was diverted to Lucknow late on Friday night after bad weather and low visibility prevented landing at its destination.
Flight IX-1871, scheduled to leave Bengaluru at 8:50 pm and arrive in Kolkata by 11:35 pm, took off behind schedule at 10:56 pm. Upon reaching Kolkata, the aircraft could not land because deteriorating weather conditions prompted air traffic control to withhold clearance.
The flight circled over Kolkata for some time before being rerouted to Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport as conditions failed to improve. It landed safely in Lucknow at around 2:35 am.
The aircraft stayed at the Lucknow airport for a few hours before resuming its journey once weather conditions in Kolkata normalised.
The flight departed from Lucknow airport at around 5:00 am on Saturday. While passengers experienced delays and inconvenience, no injuries or safety issues were reported....
