AGRA, July 3 -- The owner of a water park was arrested on Thursday in connection with the drowning of a nine-year-old boy in a swimming pool at the park in Agra's Khandoli area. A case was registered against him at Khandoli police station following a complaint by the victim's family. ACP Devesh Kumar said Keshav Kumar, the water park owner named in the FIR, was arrested on Thursday and was being sent to jail in compliance with the court's orders. "A case has been registered against the water park owner, Keshav Kumar, under the charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder on a complaint lodged by the deceased's family members," he said. ACP Kumar said the investigation is underway and has revealed that a similar incident involving the drowning of a 10-year-old child had occurred at the same water park in 2025. "Legal action is being taken as the water park was allegedly operating without adhering to safety norms and did not have the requisite licence for such a facility. It has since been closed down," ACP Kumar said. Avi (9), son of an autorickshaw driver, Rakesh, had visited the water park in Pura Lodhi village within limits of Khandoli police station of Agra with his friends on Wednesday.
