jaipur, Oct. 12 -- The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday launched a probe into the purchases made by the Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur under the tenure of Dr Manish Agrawal-head of neurosurgery department-who was arrested on Thursday for taking a bribe of Rs.1 lakh, officials aware of the matter said. "We will check all the documents and bills signed by Agrawal to procure any item for the hospital. The additional superintendent of the hospital, Dr Rajesh Sharma was made the nodal officer to coordinate with the ACB and provide them all the records of these purchases," ACB said in an official statement. ACB caught Agrawal on Thursday taking a bribe of Rs.1 lakh from a brain coil supplier in exchange for counter-signing the bills for his products, ACB ADG Smita Shrivastava said. "The action was taken after a complaint was received against Agrawal by an individual a few days ago. We have caught him taking Rs.1 lakh from the complainant at his chamber in SMS Hospital on Thursday," she added. Upon receiving the information, ACB laid a trap for him and caught him red handed. "He was sent for a four-day jail custody on Friday. Prima facie, he also tried to bribe the ACB constables when they went to nab him," the ADG said....
