LUCKNOW, Feb. 14 -- Senior IPS officer K Satyanarayan (1998 batch), currently serving as additional director general (ADG), Anti-Corruption Organisation, has sought voluntary retirement nearly 20 months before his scheduled superannuation in October 2027.
Official sources confirmed that his retirement would take effective on February 15, 2026 (Sunday), ending a career spanning close to three decades in the Indian Police Service. Satyanarayan heads the state's Anti-Corruption Organisation - a sensitive assignment involving oversight of investigations against public servants. His decision to opt for voluntary retirement at this stage has drawn attention within bureaucratic and policing circles, given the strategic importance of the post.
While no official reason has been disclosed, senior officers typically seek voluntary retirement on personal or health grounds, or in view of future professional plans. Under the All-India Services (Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, IPS officers may seek voluntary retirement after completing the required qualifying service by giving advance notice to the government.
