VARANASI, Aug. 3 -- The Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti (ABSS) on Sunday launched a nationwide campaign, 'Sanatan Shankhnad' (Call of Sanatan), saying it would respond to "conspiracies" against Sanatan Dharma and the community of seers. Addressing a press conference in Varanasi, ABSS national general secretary Swami Jitendranand Saraswati said the campaign marked a new phase in the organisation's efforts to protect Sanatan Dharma. "You may consider this the second phase of Bhagwan Adi Shankaracharya's 'Shankar Digvijay'. The seers have broken their decades-long silence and are prepared to respond firmly to every enemy of Sanatan Dharma," he said. Saraswati alleged that seers were being targeted for political reasons and criticised attempts to "insult" the saffron robes worn by them. Speaking at the event, Baba Balak Das condemned the act of Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav inside the Parliament complex, describing it as an insult to Lord Ram and Sanatan Dharma. He said the seer community had lodged a police complaint against Pappu Yadav, Rahul Gandhi and Awadhesh Prasad. He also warned that if action was not taken against Pappu Yadav, the matter would be pursued in the Supreme Court. The Kashi Vidwat Parishad and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad extended support to the campaign. The ABSS also announced that a 'Sanskriti Sansad' would be held in Varanasi from November 2 to 5, with over 3,000 seers from across the country expected to participate. The event will begin with a Rudrabhishek dedicated to the memory of Kar Sevaks associated with the Ram Mandir movement....
