LUCKNOW, Sept. 11 -- Eight new cases of Influenza-A H1N1 were reported in Lucknow on Thursday, taking number of active cases in district to 63, according to chief medical officer Dr NB Singh. All eight patients are in home isolation. So far, 28 H1N1 patients have been hospitalised, of whom 25 have recovered and been discharged, the CMO said, stated a press release shared with the media. Patients with mild symptoms do not require RT-PCR testing and should remain at home, take adequate rest and follow medical advice. The CMO also advised people to maintain distance from children, pregnant women, elderly people aged 65 years and above, and those with serious illnesses. He urged people to wear masks in crowded places, cover their mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing, stay hydrated and avoid self-medication, particularly antibiotics, without medical advice.
