PRAYAGRAJ, July 24 -- As many as 8,382 schools across Uttar Pradesh have failed to upload the mandatory information required for consideration as examination centres for the 2027 UP Board High School and Intermediate examinations, making them ineligible for centre designation, said officials on Thursday. The Board of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh (UP Board) had directed 29,182 schools to submit details on its online portal regarding infrastructure and other facilities necessary for conducting board examinations. However, only 20,800 schools completed the process, while 8,382 institutions did not furnish the required information. UP Board additional secretary Skand Shukla said these schools failed to provide the basic details needed for evaluation as examination centres. Of the total defaulters, 6,083 schools did not even log on to the Board's website to initiate the process. District-wise data show significant non-compliance from several regions. The number of schools that did not access the portal includes 493 in Aligarh, 419 in Agra, 295 in Ballia, 293 in Ghazipur, 249 in Etah, 236 in Mathura, 235 in Firozabad, 222 in Pratapgarh, 218 in Hardoi, 211 in Deoria, 202 in Mau, 201 in Mainpuri, 183 in Prayagraj, 168 in Hathras, 162 in Gonda, 151 in Lucknow, 148 in Jaunpur, 133 in Kanpur Dehat, 126 in Kaushambi, 115 in Farrukhabad, 100 in Bulandshahr, 97 in Kannauj, 94 in Bareilly, 82 in Azamgarh, 79 in Saharanpur, 78 in Auraiya, 73 in Fatehpur, 66 in Kushinagar, 62 each in Varanasi and Sitapur, 58 in Kanpur Nagar, 49 in Bijnor, 32 in Lakhimpur Kheri besides thousands of schools in other districts. As per Board officials only schools that have submitted complete information regarding infrastructure, facilities, and suitability criteria will be considered during the selection of examination centres for the 2027 board examinations.
