7 new H1N1 cases in city; active cases reach 66
LUCKNOW, Sept. 7 -- Seven new Influenza A (H1N1) cases were reported in Lucknow on Sunday, with three patients hospitalised and four in home isolation.
One previously admitted patient recovered and was discharged, taking the number of active cases to 66, said CMO Dr NB Singh.
As per health department guidelines, patients with severe symptoms such as breathlessness, chest pain, low blood pressure, bluish nails or blood in sputum should undergo Real-Time RT-PCR testing and be hospitalised if required.
Mild cases do not require RT-PCR testing and should recover at home under medical advice.
The CMO advised patients to avoid close contact with children, pregnant women, people above 65 and those with serious illnesses.
