7 joint teams formed to trace Haridwar robbery accused
Haridwar, Aug. 31 -- Seven joint teams comprising the police, the Crime Investigation Unit and a Special Operation Group have been formed to trace the three accused involved in the robbery in Shivalik Nagar of Haridwar on Tuesday.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Haridwar, Pramendra Dobhal, said the teams have been tasked with solving the case.
"All the seven teams are carrying out investigation across Uttarakhand, western Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. We will crack the case soon and arrest the accused. CCTV footage, manual investigation, forensic and digital evidence are all being examined as part of the investigation," he said.
Meanwhile, a Congress delegation met the victim's family at their Shivalik Nagar home. The delegation was led by Sonipat MP Satpal Brahamchari and Haridwar Mahanagar unit president Aman Garg.
The leaders expressed resentment over the "deteriorating" law and order situation in the district.
"If all three accused remain absconding even after 72 hours of the robbery, and if they are not arrested within a day or two, Congress workers will be forced to launch an agitation," said Garg.
The robbery took place at the residence of former BHEL employee and hotelier Kuldeep Chaudhary in the K-Cluster of Shivalik Nagar.
At the time of the incident, Chaudhary was out on a walk, while his daughter Mona was alone at home. Three armed men broke into the house, held her hostage at gunpoint, and carried out the robbery for nearly 15 minutes....
