69-yr-old dies after langur pushed him
Haldwani, June 20 -- A 69-year-old retired paper mill employee died after allegedly being pushed by a langur while on a morning walk in Lalkuan town of Nainital district, officials said on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Idris, a resident of Rajiv Nagar's Bengali Colony area. Idris, who retired from the mill in 2015, had been regularly going for morning walks since his retirement. According to police, Idris was walking with his friends towards Dorby Field on Thursday morning when a langur allegedly approached him from behind and forcefully pushed him on a road in Ward No. 3. The sudden shove caused Idris to lose balance and fall headfirst onto the road, resulting in serious injuries.
SDM Rekha Kohli said directions have been issued to the municipal body to capture monkeys and langurs from urban areas to prevent such incidents in the future.HTC...
