60-year-old man killed in neighbourhood clash in Aligarh
AGRA, May 19 -- A 60-year-old man died after being hit by a brick during a clash between neighbours in Maulana Azad Nagar area of Aligarh city on Sunday night. The dispute reportedly began over children playing in the locality but escalated after elders from both groups belonging to the same community became involved. Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) at Aligarh (III), Sarvam Singh said that Kwarsi police station in Aligarh city received information about a clash between two groups in the Maulana Azad Nagar locality at around 8 pm on Sunday.
"Police reached the spot and found that the incident initially began as a dispute between children from the neighbourhood who were playing together. However, the elders of the families later got involved, and it escalated into a clash," said Singh. "A 60-year-old man, identified as Gulbahar, was hit on the head with a brick during the clash and was rushed to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, where he died during treatment," said Sarvam Singh.
"Four people, including the main accused Shadab, have been arrested, while efforts are on to trace others after a case was registered at Kwarsi police station in Aligarh city," he added....
