LUCKNOW, May 30 -- A 60-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 7-year-old neighbour girl after luring her to his home in Thakurganj area with promise of a candy, police said on Friday. The victim's family alleged that the accused, identified as Mohammad Shakeel, a resident of Amrapali Chowki area under Thakurganj police station, called the minor to his house around noon on Friday. He bolted the door from inside and allegedly sexually assaulted her, police said. The child returned home crying and narrated her ordeal to her family, who filed a complaint at the Thakurganj police station, officials said. Thakurganj inspector Omveer Singh confirmed that FIR had been registered under Section 63 of BNS based on the complaint by the victim's family.
