5 killed, 11 injured after truck hits stationary bus
Agra, July 4 -- Five people were killed and 11 others were injured in a tragic incident within the limits of Baghwala police station of Etah district on Thursday night.
The bus these passengers were travelling in had a fault and was parked on the side of the road when a speeding container truck struck it.
According to Etah district magistrate Arvind Singh, the incident occurred at 11:30 pm on Thursday night when a UPSRTC bus heading for Delhi turned faulty and was parked on the side of the road within the limits of Baghwala police station of Etah district while repairs were underway.
"A truck from the opposite direction and a container truck from behind reached the spot where the bus was stationary and the container truck hit the roadways bus. Those inside the bus had minor injuries but those standing around the stationary bus were badly injured and 16 were rushed to the hospital," stated DM Etah.
"Out of these 16, four died soon after the accident and one critically injured was taken to the Intensive Care Unit. The other 11 injured were out of danger," said DM Etah.
A critically injured man succumbed to injuries later taking death toll to five. Those killed were identified as Rajesh (34), Sukhram (30), Ashish Saxena and Shailesh (35) all from Farukkhabad district beside Satyendra (38) from Bulandshahr.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the deaths of passengers and directed officials to ensure best of treatment to the injured....
