Haridwar, June 10 -- A 44-year-old man was arrested on Monday for allegedly harassing and assaulting two female pilgrims at Har-Ki-Pauri in Haridwar, police said on Tuesday. A senior officer said he two pilgrims from Jhansi in Madhya Pradesh alleged that the accused was harassing them for several days. They alleged that he used abusive language and created a nuisance whenever they arrived at the ghat. When they confronted him on Monday evening, he allegedly slapped both women and threatened them. The incident was recorded on a mobile phone by a bystander, and the video later circulated on social media platforms.
