Lucknow, Sept. 1 -- The state capital experienced another intense spell of rain on Monday evening, leaving commuters and office-goers stranded. The Amausi observatory recorded 29 mm of rain between 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm and a total rainfall of 42.2 mm from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. Between 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, the city received 12.2 mm rainfall, said Atul Kumar Singh, a senior scientist at Regional Meteorological Centre. He said the rain was intense for nearly an hour i.e. between 6 pm to 7 pm in most parts of the city. The forecast for Lucknow is generally cloudy sky becoming overcast sky with intermittent spells of rain/thundershowers. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 30 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively. The IMD issued a warning of heavy rain accompanied with thunderstorm/lightning at isolated places.
