Agra, June 20 -- Four more accused allegedly involved in the embezzlement of gold jewellery pledged as security against loans at the Bharaul branch of a public sector bank in Firozabad district have been arrested, police said on Friday. The arrests come a day after three accused, including the branch manager, were taken into custody in the case. According to the Media Cell of Firozabad Police, the newly arrested accused have been identified as Rahul, 45, Bhanu Pratap Singh, 35, Ankur, 38, and Rishabh, 30. They were arrested in connection with Case Crime No. 082 of 2026, registered under Sections 316(5), 317(2) and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Araon police station for criminal breach of trust, possession of stolen property and criminal conspiracy. "These four arrests were made near Chauhan Dhaba in Firozabad district on Friday. The accused were produced before a court and subsequently sent to judicial custody," police said in a statement. Officials at Araon police station said that one of the accused is the brother of the main accused, Dileep Kumar, who worked as a credit officer at the Bharaul branch. Police said the four arrested on Friday were part of the racket and involved in the alleged embezzlement at the bank. The arrests are linked to the disappearance of around 96 packets containing pledged gold ornaments from lockers at the Bank of India branch in Bharaul village under the jurisdiction of Araon police station....
