4 held for running fake call centre in Agra
AGRA, Aug. 10 -- Four individuals, including two women, were arrested by Agra cyber police for allegedly running a fake call centre to cheat the unemployed youth on the pretext of giving them jobs of security guards and security supervisor in lieu of money.
Police said the members of the racket had cheated around 2500 people in Uttar Pradesh and other states in the past five years. Aditya, deputy commissioner of police (Agra West), said information was received about the running of a fake call centre in the city. During a raid there, four accused were arrested. They included two women and two men identified as Ajay Kumar from Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh and Tarun from Chhapra in Bihar, the cop added.
"These accused used to indulge in forgery in stages and initially charged money for informing about the vacancies of security guard and security supervisor in the fake company," he said.htc...
