Imphal, Sept. 4 -- As many as 306 people have been killed, while 49 remain missing in the ethnic violence that broke out in May 2023, Manipur home minister Govindas Konthoujam informed the state's legislative assembly on Thursday. The minister was responding to a question on the assembly floor raised by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Sapam Ranjan during the ongoing morning session. Responding to the supplementary queries of the starred question, the home minister informed the house that according to the rule, a person is confirmed missing if the same person failed to trace within seven years.
