25% staff skip duty, Lucknow admin warns of FIRs from May 22
LUCKNOW, May 21 -- The Lucknow administration has decided to crack down on absenteeism in Census 2027 preparations after finding that nearly one-fourth of appointed supervisors and enumerators have not joined training and field duties.
Officials have now issued a final deadline of May 21 and warned that FIRs will be lodged from May 22 against employees who continue to remain absent.
The decision came during a review meeting chaired by additional municipal commissioner Abhinav Ranjan Srivastava at the Smart City office on Wednesday evening. Senior officials, including chief tax assessment officer Ashok Singh, Vinay Kumar Rai and zonal officers, attended the meeting.
Abhinav Ranjan Srivastava directed all absent employees to join duty by May 21, calling it the final opportunity before legal action begins. He instructed all zonal officers to initiate the process of filing FIRs against defaulting personnel from May 22 onward.
