LUCKNOW, April 26 -- In a coordinated action across Lucknow against power pilferage and defaulters, four teams of Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited on Saturday conducted raids disconnected illegal supply lines, and lodged FIRs under the Electricity Act 2003 as part of a broader push to reduce line losses and ensure adequate supply during summer. In all, teams checked over 230 electricity connections in various areas. In the Amausi zone, multiple power theft cases were detected. Teams inspected 187 premises and found nine cases of power theft. FIRs were lodged under Section 135 of the Electricity Act, 2003.
