Lucknow, May 22 -- The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday announced some appointments and reappointments of vice-chancellors in state universities, beginning with the extension of Prof. J.P. Pandey's tenure at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. According to a Raj Bhavan communication, Prof. Pandey has been granted a second three-year term, becoming only the third vice-chancellor of the university to receive a reappointment. During his tenure, AKTU secured NAAC accreditation for the first time in its 25-year history and obtained an A+ grade in its first assessment. Meanwhile, University of Allahabad senior professor Narendra Kumar Shukla has been appointed vice-chancellor of Jananayak Chandrashekhar University, Ballia. Currently heading the Electronics and Communication department at AU, he also serves as dean of student welfare and dean of college development council. In another appointment, Anupama Kaushik became the first woman vice-chancellor of Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology Gorakhpur for a three-year term. htc...
