LUCKNOW, April 1 -- An 18-year-old youth was arrested after a cartridge was found in his bag during a routine baggage screening at the IT Metro Station in Lucknow, said police on Tuesday. "The incident occurred on March 30 around 1:24 pm, when a passenger placed his bag on the X-ray scanner during security checks at metro station in Mahanagar area. During screening, monitor displayed an object resembling a cartridge," said Mahanagar SHO AK Mishra. Officials said the bag was immediately set aside and physically examined with the help of security staff. "During the inspection, one .315 bore cartridge was recovered from the bag," the SHO said. He further added that the passenger was identified as Anteshwar Verma, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri. When questioned, he failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for possessing the ammunition. "Based on a complaint an FIR under Section 3/25 of the Arms Act was registered at Mahanagar police station on March 30," the SHO added.
