18 MBBS students suspended in ragging case
GORAKHPUR, May 30 -- Eighteen MBBS students of Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College in Gorakhpur have been suspended for one month and fined Rs.25,000 each after being found guilty in a ragging case involving junior students, college officials said on Friday.
The action was taken following an inquiry conducted by the institution's Anti-Ragging Committee after first-year MBBS students lodged a complaint alleging harassment by senior students inside Rajendra Hostel between May 12 and 14, 2026.
The accused students have also been barred from attending classes, entering the campus, and staying in the hostels during the suspension period....
