Agra, April 28 -- Eighteen people were arrested from Roravar police station area of Aligarh district for allegedly opposing the police team that reached village Naugawan Arjun to arrest a wanted accused on Sunday. Out of 18 arrested accused, four are women. A case has been registered against 38 named and 150 to 200 unidentified people at Roravar police station of Aligarh. Superintendent of police (city) Aligarh, Aditya Bansal said the police team had gone to village Naugawan Arjun to arrest an accused wanted in criminal case number 76 of 2026. "When the police party was in process of arresting the wanted accused, the family members and others in village opposed the arrest and attempted to free him," said Bansal. "A case has been registered at Roravar police station of Aligarh against 38 named and about 150 to 200 unidentified accused. In all 19 have been arrested, including the main accused. Out of 38 named in the latest case, 18, including four women named were arrested. Those arrested include 6 accused who have criminal past," stated SP Aligarh. The police had raided the village to arrest Mehendi Hasan named in crime case no. 75 of 2026 under section 191(2)/115(2)/351(2)/ 352/303(2)/324(4)/308(2)/126(2) of BNS. htc...
