PRAYAGRAJ, June 21 -- The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has launched a stringent crackdown on malpractice, leading to the registration of 14 FIRs against candidates within a span of just 15 days. According to officials, FIRs were lodged against 11 candidates on June 3 during the Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) recruitment examination under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination Act, 2024. On June 4, the second day of the TGT written examination, two more separate cases were registered. An FIR was lodged at Colonelganj police station in Prayagraj on June 17 against a candidate for allegedly attempting to appear in the lecturer recruitment interview through fraudulent means. The commission had earlier also initiated legal action against individuals involved in creating fake websites during the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) application process. Officials said the series of actions reflects the commission's zero-tolerance policy towards unfair means and its commitment to conducting examinations in a fair, transparent and credible manner. The commission, headed by chairman and former director general of police Prashant Kumar, has sent a strong message that any attempt to compromise the integrity of examinations will be dealt with firmly. ....
