Jaipur, Nov. 2 -- A 12-year-old girl was killed after she fell from the fourth floor of a private school building in Jaipur during class hours on Saturday, said police. According to Mansarovar assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Aditya Kakade said, "We are still not sure whether or not it was a suicide. The school's CCTV footage captured her climbing the railing and subsequently falling to her death." "Prima facie, no eyewitnesses saw her fall. School staff heard her screams and found her in a pool of blood on the ground floor," he added. She was rushed to a local hospital but declared dead on arrival, he said. "Her ribs were broken and damaged her internal organs, which led to her death, as doctors told us. Her body was sent for an autopsy and her parents were informed. No case on the matter has yet been lodged. We suspect that she slipped and fell accidentally but a probe is underway," he added. Meanwhile, the education minister, Madan Dilawar, in an official statement, said, "This is an extremely disheartening incident. I have directed the district education officer to conduct an investigation, find out the lapses that caused the accident and send a report." No statement from the school authority was immediately available. htc...
