PRAYAGRAJ, June 27 -- The district administration has ordered the closure of 12 wedding venues, hotels and lodges in Prayagraj for failing to comply with mandatory fire safety norms. The action comes after a recent fire at a coaching institute in Lucknow and follows the cancellation of registrations of 86 coaching institutes in the district earlier this week. The action was taken by additional district magistrate (city) Satyam Mishra after a fire department inspection found serious shortcomings in fire safety measures at the establishments. The properties ordered to close are Shiviram Inn in Chandpur Salori, Triveni Grand Hotel and Banquet in Meerapatti, Transport Nagar, Shahanshah Hotel on Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Sadabahar Lines on Noorullah Road, Radha Krishna Mandapam Wedding Venue on Rai Bahadur Ramcharan Road, Prem Vatika in Dhanuha, Arail, Sangam International at Ghunghru Crossing, Mahadev Homes Guest House near IIIT Crossing, Phase-II, Jhalwa, Gangadham near Krishna Coaching on Band Road, Bachchaji Guest House in Tikri Kala, Gajapur, Ram Vatika in Nawabganj and Vijay Guest House in Jhunsi Haveliya. ADM (City) Satyam Mishra said strict action would continue against establishments violating fire safety or other mandatory norms. He directed owners to ensure full compliance and instructed officials to carry out regular inspections and monitoring.
