BENGALURU, July 25 -- Twelve BLOs deployed for Karnataka's SIR exercise have died since the exercise began on June 30, chief electoral officer (CEO) V Anbukumar said on Friday. "There is no provision under the EC's guidelines to provide compensation to the families of BLOs who die while on duty," he said. Bhuvana, a village administrative officer supervising BLOs, was killed on Saturday in a road accident in Tumakuru district. In Bidar district, 45-year-old Sunil, a government school teacher deployed in Bhalki, suffered a heart attack at work on Thursday. He died the next day. arun dev...
