11 UP schools earn nat'l recognition for cleanliness and sustainability
Lucknow, June 18 -- Eleven schools from Uttar Pradesh have secured places in the national list of the Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR) 2025-26 conducted by the Union Ministry of Education. The selected institutions include six government schools, two Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, two other schools and one private school.
A total of 20 schools from the state were nominated for national evaluation, of which 11 made the final list. Schools were assessed on cleanliness, water conservation, energy efficiency, waste management and green campus development.
Officials said the achievement reflects the growing focus on clean, safe and environmentally sustainable learning environments. The Basic Education Department will also honour the top 20 state-level schools for their performance.
Among the selected government schools were Primary School Italia Mafi, Sambhal (Rank 12), Primary School Chokhapur, Pilibhit (Rank 25), PMV Kanya Ganchapa, Chitrakoot (Rank 27), Primary School Sahajni, Bareilly (Rank 29), Composite School Aamgaon, Badaun (Rank 36), and Upper Primary School Kutubpur Labdaula, Saharanpur (Rank 55). Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Hariharpur Rani in Shravasti (Rank 9) and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Konch in Jalaun (Rank 14) also figured in the national rankings. htc...
