Rudrapur, Aug. 12 -- One person died and three others were injured after a car fell into a nearly 150-metre-deep gorge in Banlekh area of Champawat district on Tuesday, police said. The vehicle was travelling from Khatima towards Pithoragarh when the driver allegedly lost control, causing it to plunge into the gorge. Four people were travelling in the car. After receiving information about the accident, the SDRF Champawat team and district police reached the spot. With the help of residents, rescue personnel descended into the difficult terrain and began the operation. The SDRF and police teams managed to retrieve all four occupants from the gorge. htc...
