VARANASI, Aug. 14 -- Flight operations at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (LBSI) were suspended on Tuesday, August 11, after a crew reported Foreign Object Debris (FOD) on the runway, airport director Punit Gupta confirmed on Thursday. The incident was prompted by non-scheduled flight traveling from Vadodara to Varanasi. The flight crew alerted ATC to presence of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) on runway surface. According to reports, the FOD included some sand and pebble-sized debris. The airport authorities immediately conducted an inspection. A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued, declaring runway temporarily unavailable to facilitate cleaning and repairs.
