'Unregistered nursing insts limiting careers'
Lucknow, April 28 -- The Rajkiya Nurses Sangh of UP (RNS UP) has alleged that hundreds of nursing students in UP are enrolled in institutes not registered with the Indian Nursing Council (INC), restricting their job prospects beyond the state.
RNS UP general secretary Ashok Kumar said at least 348 GNM and 234 BSc nursing institutes lack INC registration. Of 615 GNM institutes in the state, only 267 are recognised.
In a letter to the chief minister, the body said students graduating from unregistered institutes can work in Uttar Pradesh but are ineligible for registration in other states, a mandatory requirement for clinical practice.
The association urged the government to bar such institutes from admitting students until they secure INC recognition. htc...
