'Safe food everywhere': FSDA pushes greater compliance, awareness
LUCKNOW, June 8 -- On the occasion of World Food Safety Day 2026, a special seminar and stakeholder dialogue was organised at the IIA Building in Gomti Nagar on Saturday.
The event brought together government officials, industry representatives, and food safety experts to deliberate on emerging challenges and strategies for ensuring safe and nutritious food systems.
The seminar, organised by the food safety and drug administration (FSDA), Lucknow, in collaboration with the Indian Industries Association (IIA) under the aegis of the India Food Expo 2026, was themed "From Burden to Solutions: Safe Food Everywhere."
The focus of the dialogue was to strengthen awareness around food safety regulations while improving compliance and coordination between regulators and food business operators.
Chetan Dev Bhalla, National Vice President of IIA and Advisor to India Food Expo 2026, highlighted the importance of industry participation in advancing food safety standards. Vijay Pratap Singh, assistant commissioner (Food-II), FSDA Lucknow, stressed that food safety is not only a regulatory requirement but also a foundation for a healthy and productive society.
Chief guest on the occasion was additional district magistrate (East), Lucknow, Mahendra Pal Singh.
