LUCKNOW, June 18 -- A woman from Lucknow's Jankipuram area has alleged that two men dressed as Aghori sadhus made her gold ring disappear after stopping her car on the Engineering College flyover, prompting police to register a case on Tuesday and launch an investigation. According to the complaint lodged by Shambhavi Shukla, a resident of Malhar Deluxe Colony in Jankipuram, the incident took place around noon on Monday when she was driving from the Engineering College flyover towards Madiaon. Shukla told the police that two men dressed as Aghori sadhus approached from the opposite direction and signalled her to stop her vehicle. After she halted the car, one of the men asked her to lower the window and placed a few flower petals in her hand. Moments later, she noticed that the ring she had been wearing was missing. She immediately searched for the ring and tried to locate the two men, but they had disappeared, she alleged in her complaint. Police said the woman suspects that the accused distracted or hypnotised her during the brief interaction and stole the ring. Madiaon station house officer Shivanand Mishra said a case has been registered and efforts are underway to identify the suspects. "The matter is being investigated and CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being examined," he said. Police have appealed to residents to remain cautious while interacting with strangers on roads and to avoid stopping vehicles at isolated stretches unless necessary....
