VARANASI, Feb. 8 -- Calling the 2026 Union Budget a roadmap for the empowerment of youth, poor and the middle, Union minister of state for rural development Kamlesh Paswan said it will create large-scale employment opportunities and strengthen economic activities. Paswan spoke to media persons here on Saturday. "This is a budget that will realize the vision of a developed India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This budget is a roadmap for the empowerment of youth, poor, women, farmers, and the middle class. This budget will give impetus to all sectors." the MoS said. Paswan said the budget will give a new lease of life to 200 old industrial areas (clusters) with the aim of supporting small industries. He said that there is recession worldwide, but India has shown that its economy is as strong as a rock by keeping its deficit at 4.3%. He said a "Corporate Mitra" training programme is being started to ensure that young people get jobs immediately after graduating from college. He said that five major medical hubs will be created in the country so that people from all over the world come to India for treatment and employment increases here. He said that the central government has presented a historic budget of Rs.12.2 lakh crore in capital expenditure and Rs.53 lakh crore overall to modernize the country, which will lead to the construction of excellent roads and bridges.
