Won't allow discontinuation of OPS: cong
Shimla, June 18 -- State Congress president Vinay Kumar has said the Congress government in the state will not allow the old pension scheme (OPS) to be discontinued. He referred to Union health minister JP Nadda's statement in a press conference in which he had said that BJP was in favour of the new pension scheme and UPS and not OPS.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Kumar said, "Employees' dues were not paid during the tenure of former CM Jai Ram Thakur. Due to the BJP government's wasteful spending, the state inherited a debt of more than Rs.70,000 crore and employee liabilities of more than Rs.10,000 crore." htc...
