Shimla, Aug. 13 -- Two women were killed while two children sustained injuries as a two-storey house in Chhichhriyan village under the Didag Gram Panchayat of Sirmaur district collapsed on Wednesday despite clear weather. Nirmala Devi (56) and Pooja (30) lost their lives in the incident, while two toddlers sustained injuries. Both children were also taken to the hospital for treatment. Pooja was 8 months pregnant. Four people were inside the house at the time of the incident and all of them were trapped under the debris as the structure fell. Local administration and police teams initiated relief and rescue operations. All four individuals trapped in the debris were extricated and taken to the civil hospital in Rajgarh. Deputy commissioner, Sirmaur, Priyanka Verma, said, "According to the SDM the pillar of the house got tilted which led to the collapse of the building. One injured child is referred to Solan.
