With Jantar Mantar protest, NC wants to hide failures: BJP
Srinagar, June 18 -- J&K leader of opposition Sunil Sharma on Wednesday termed the National Conference's proposed protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar over restoration of statehood as an "eyewash". He said the J&K government was trying to divert people's attention from its "inefficiency".
During a media interaction at Amar Singh Club in Srinagar on completion of 12 years of BJP government at the Centre, the J&K BJP highlighted various developmental activities across the country, including J&K.
On Monday, J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah said that the planned protest of his party at Jantar Mantar demanding statehood was on schedule even though he raised the issue with the Prime Minister last week. Last week, Omar had sought INDIA bloc's backing for protests on J&K statehood restoration. The BJP leader said that there was no dual control on development of the Union Territory. "It is merely an attempt to spread confusion. There is no dual control," he said.
"People demand electricity, but I have not seen any review meetings taking place. There is a lack of clean water. The government is not making drinking water available," he said....
