Two BSF officers injured in mob attack in Samba
Jammu, March 31 -- A BSF inspector and a sub inspector, in civvies, were injured after they were allegedly attacked by some locals in a village in Samba district early hours of Monday, officials said.
They were identified as BSF inspector Imtiaz and BSF SI Devendra.
The incident occurred around 1.30 am when the two had gone for some investigation in connection with narcotics smuggling to Gujjar Basti Dwarkapuri in the Supwal area, officials said.
A group of locals assaulted the two personnel, leaving them injured. They have been shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment, they said.
According to the officials, police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation.Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those involved.
