Dharamshala, April 22 -- Himachal Pradesh chief minister (CM) Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday said that the teacher recruitment in all the schools brought under CBSE pattern will be completed by June 30 with a state level examination. CM Sukhu in 2025 had announced setting up of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)-based schools in the state with a separate cadre for teachers of these institutions. "The current government has made significant improvements in the education sector. English-medium education has been introduced from Class 1 and 151 schools have been brought under the CBSE pattern," Sukhu said while addressing a public gathering at Jakhbar in Fatehpur assembly constituency of Kangra district. "Himachal Pradesh has now reached 5th position in providing quality education in the country," he added, while alleging that the quality of education declined during the previous BJP government, with the state falling to 21st position in 2021. Sukhu announced Rs.10 crore for the construction of an industrial area in Fatehpur assembly constituency and said that the office of the chief engineer of the Shah Canal project, which was earlier shifted from Fatehpur to Mandi, will now be re-established in Fatehpur. The CM also announced financial assistance of Rs.20,000 each to Mahila Mandals of the area and Rs.50 lakh for the renovation of Wazir Ram Singh Stadium. The CM said the previous BJP government received around Rs.60,000 crore more compared to the current government. "The previous government received Rs.54,000 crore as revenue deficit grant and Rs.16,000 crore as GST compensation, while the current government received only Rs.17,000 crore," he said....
