Shimla, March 22 -- Police on Saturday registered a case against unidentified individuals following an alleged targeted attack on Aryan Chauhan, the general secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress and son of Naresh Chauhan, the media adviser to chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. The incident took place on Friday evening near Mashobra when Aryan Chauhan was headed to Shimla. According to official sources, a group of assailants travelling in another vehicle intercepted Chauhan's car and attempted to assault him using a firearm and a metal rod. In a desperate bid to escape the attackers, Chauhan leaped from his vehicle into a nearby gorge. While he sustained minor injuries during the fall, he managed to evade the suspects and alerted the authorities shortly after the encounter.
