Jammu, April 17 -- Searches for Tanveer Ahmed Chopan, 18, who jumped into a rivulet after being chased and beaten up by alleged cow vigilantes in Makerkoot, entered fifth day on Thursday. "On Thursday, authorities deployed a JCB with long arms to sift through the debris and divert water but success has so far eluded them. We have deployed multiple search teams from NDRF, SDRF, local volunteers and police up to the Chenab River where Bisleri Nullah merges but there has been no clue of the missing youth so far," a police officer said. The four alleged cow vigilantes remain in police custody while a SIT headed by SDPO Banihal Surinder Singh Biloria investigates the case.
