Dharamshala, July 24 -- The India Meteorological Department's (IMD) Shimla office has predicted light to moderate rainfall to continue in parts of Himachal Pradesh in coming days with rainfall activity to intensify again from July 27. The weather office said that light to moderate rainfall is very likely at a few places on July 24 and 25, at many places on July 26 and 29 and at most places on July 27 and 28. One or two spells of heavy rainfall are also likely at isolated places on July 27, 28 and 29. While no weather alert has been sounded in Himachal on July 24, 25 and 26, a yellow alert has been issued on July 27 to 29. The maximum temperatures are likely to rise by 3-5 degrees during the next 3-4 days, thereafter they are expected to fall by 3-5 degrees during the next 2-3 days. The monsoon activity was normal over the state during the last 24 hours, and light to moderate rain was observed at most places. The highest rainfall of 6 cm was recorded in Manali, followed by Sarahan (4 cm), Ghamroor (4 cm), Nagrota Surian (3 cm), Aghar (3 cm), Bilaspur Sadar (3 cm), Kahu (2 cm), Barthin (2 cm), Palampur (2 cm), Bharwain (2 cm), Kasauli (2 cm), Naina Davi (2 cm), Nadaun (2 cm), Dehra Gopipur (2 cm), Dharampur (2 cm) and Sujanpur Tira (1 cm). As many as 344 roads remained closed in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday in Himachal besides National Highway (NH-70) Mandi-Kotli. 232 roads remained blocked in Mandi district alone followed by 71 in Kullu district and 15 in Lahaul-Spiti district.
