Railways to add extra coaches to tackle rush
Jammu, June 11 -- Considering heavy influx of pilgrims and tourists, the Indian Railways has announced addition of extra coaches in trains from Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli to Katra.
"Considering the heavy rush of pilgrims and general passengers and long waiting lists in reservations during the summer season, the Jammu railway division has decided to temporarily attach one additional third AC coach to train Nos. 16317/16318 and 16787/16788," said a spokesperson.
The arrangement will remain in place from June 12 to 26 Similar service shall remain available from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra from June 15 to 29.
Railways requested passengers to take advantage of the increased capacity and travel only with a confirmed ticket before their journey. For reservations and updated train status, passengers can contact 139 or use the IRCTC website/app...
