New Delhi, April 24 -- Delhi's Saket court on Thursday granted four days' custody of the accused Rahul Meena to Delhi Police to investigate the case regarding the alleged rape and murder of an IRS officer's daughter in South Delhi's Kailash Hills. Rahul was produced before the court after his arrest from a hotel in Dwarka on Wednesday, said police. An FIR has been lodged at the Amar Colony police station in connection with the alleged crime. The investigating officer told the court that cash and jewellery had been recovered. The court also interacted with the accused and asked the investigating officer to justify why the 4-day custody was required. Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Deepika Thakran granted the custody of Rahul Meena to the Delhi police. Police officers said the request for custody is crucial to reconstruct the sequence of events, verify digital and forensic evidence, and establish the full motive behind thecrime. Meena was arrested from a hotel in Dwarka shortly after the incident and has since been in police custody. According to police officers , the accused has shown no visible remorse during interrogation and has maintained a composed and calm demeanour.
