NCB seizes 603gm heroin in Rajouri
JAMMU, Aug. 15 -- Close on the heels of seizing 438gm of suspected heroin from the Rajouri area on the outskirts of Jammu city on Wednesday, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sleuths seized another 603gn of suspected heroin in Samba district and apprehended an accused on Thursday, officials said.
"NCB, J&K Police and BSF carried out a coordinated high-risk narcotics operation in an area known for past notorious activities in Bari Brahmana," said an official spokesperson.
During the operation, 603gm of suspected heroin was seized along with a motorcycle allegedly used in furtherance of the illicit activity, he added.
One accused, a resident of Vijaypur, Samba, was apprehended on the spot, he informed. The operation was conducted under high-risk and hostile circumstances.
The coordinated presence of the NCB, J&K Police and BSF enabled the operation to be swiftly brought under control despite resistance encountered at the site, said the spokesperson.
